Notes:
Good sounding gig but the
bass brick-walls a bit when the bass 'punches'. I think the taper was
standing really close to the stack & that caused the sensations; I've had it
happen before as well. For some reason, many CSB>MD recordings using Sony
are just fine, there seem to be only a few recording sources that get
slightly distorted. I think maybe this taper was running his CSBs in through
the microphone slot
(having adjusted the input volume to a lower level before the show).
This is on the borderline for being primarily for
collector's
since most recordings do
not distort. Not terrible though. On a positive note, the crowd is very,
very quiet. That aspect aside, the performance is in top-form. It's
interesting to hear how Tool interacts with audiences from other countries.
Maynardism:
"Thank you, very much. We'd
like to take this opportunity to thank somebody for putting up with us;
we've been touring through Europe with a band called Cortizone & we'd like
to give them a special thanks. They've been very, very, very, very tolerant
of our 'tom-foolery'. We'd like to thank them. Say thank you Cortizone --
ok, now in English. Just kidding."
