Source A: Mini Disc --- Sony ECM-MS908C > Sony MZR-700
Taper: Charles C.
Gen: 1st from Master
MP3 Sample: Right click & save
Notes: Really, this particular recording is very clear especially considering the equipment (mics) used. For some reason, I really dislike the Sony ECM sound but, somehow, this taper pulled it off & it is a pretty nice product overall. However, there is a very tiny amount of high end distortion on this recording that seems to, in a way, come & go. You need to really search for it when you listen to the show. It is semi-noticeable during one part of a song or crowd cheer then is gone in other parts. All in all, I think that most people would rate this recording at something like a "B" or "B+". There is a little more crowd noise <yelling + singing> in this recording than in the taper's 10.25.02 recording but I don't think he had any control over that. Personally, even if this show sounded like shit, which it does not, I would still listen to if but that is me. Tool was very tight this night, more importantly. As of March 2003, I have listened to this show in its entirety only twice but I have detected no performance issues nor flaws. Nor anything that really separates it from another show with the exception that they were very good this night. It was a Saturday night &, as I was told, this show was sold-out.
Notes: There are various issues regarding this show on a technical issue with inconsistent track transitions, a few skips & some other random noises. Just a note. Not a big deal.
Maynardism: "Apparently, Augusta. Hmm... Well, Lewiston has you beat so far. Augusta? Give you one more chance, Augusta?"
(Dr. Leary: 'Think for Yourself, Question Authority' - beginning of song)
