Superb sounding recording.
Sound is almost like you are right there, on the rail & are staring up at
the band just jamming away. One of the best recordings from this leg of the
tour, in my opinion. The crowd is very, very low as the instruments &
Maynard's vocals simply carry over & seem to caress the listener's ears.
I've heard a few of this taper's other recordings & I think this may be one
of the best, again, my opinion. This just is such a, well, great capture of
Tool it is a shame that more recordings do not have this sort of all-around
quality. Although a lot has to do with the equipment the taper uses I think
that more has to do with the overall professionalism that the taper has
while recording & also to his recordings in general. The performance is
simply professional but with a twist, Tool seem to really be having a good
time. After about a year & a half of straight touring, they have their set
of songs down to perfect harmony & add little, unique twists such as the
whammy-bar, pick scrape Adam does as Stinkfist begins. I really don't think
that it is possible for this band to get any better than this performance.
But, I am also quite sure I will be proved wrong soon enough.
Maynardism:
"Good evening Albuquerque.
I assume you are here tonight to have some fun. If I may make a distinction
about what kind of fun we are going to have. We are not going to have the
Monster Truck Rally, WWF fun. We are not going to have the MTV Spring Break
dry hump, Limp Bizkit kind of fun because we are not going to underestimate
your intelligence. We are going to have intelligent fun, we are going to
have compassionate fun, creative fun, we are going to have dangerous fun."
