Notes: Great sounding recording for a powerful gig; the second to last show of the Lateralus tour. This particular recording is very clean, crisp & clear but has a hint of hall-e sound to it, in a way. I am pretty sure he was sitting in the upper balcony so the recording is not as. Crowd is very low and does not overpower the recording at all - surprising, as I've heard loads of DATs taped at approximately the same locale that do not hold up even half as well as this taper's set-up does. Nice. Tool seems to be not only in a good mood, probably happy to be done touring, but also seems to be...um...playing it up a little bit since this is one of the shows which they were taping for a future DVD release. So, imagine that, they played really, really well tonight - lots of energy. Maynard, especially, seems to be rather cheeky and talkative, compared with other shows this tour. For the collector's or people that really are into the -entire concert experience-, the post-show is one not to be missed. Amusing, for sure. For those that enjoy humor, take a good listen to the post-show...

Maynardism: "Good evening Reno. Are you ready to have some fun? Well, let me clarify what we mean by fun. Not the WWF, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock kind of fun. Not the MTV dry-humping, effects gone wild beach party kind of fun. Because we are not going to underestimate your intelligence. We're gonna have intelligent fun, compassionate fun, think-for-yourself-question-authority kind of fun. The kind of fun that drives Republicans crazy. Lots of fun. Are you ready?"
