Notes:
Very good sounding
recording, especially for a MD source with cardioids. Nice levels, low crowd
noise & captures the mood of the gig exceptionally well. Lucky crowd... Tool
played Jimmy, a song they didn't play much in 2002 other than at a handful
of other gigs. Crowd noise is kept at a minimum as the instruments really
sound nice coming out of the speakers. One of the better 2002 Australian/New
Zealand tour recordings around. Perhaps the only major complaint or issue I
foresee is that the recording is just seems, to my ears, to lack the overall
"fullness" that a binaural recording will give you. This is, of course, up
for interpretation & is entirely subjective. As it is, there seem to be two
versions of this recording with this being the only source available in any
capacity.
Maynardism:
"This is a song we don't normally do. It's a song about finding your way
back home & we'd like to dedicate it to...Julian"
