Ozzfest

Source:
Mini Disc --- Sony ECM ?? > Sony MD ??
MP3 Sample: Right click & save

Notes: Nice, solid recording. Interesting setlist. Hard to believe that the taper used Sony microphones as this recording is very, very good - then again, no one is exactly sure what the microphones were. The recording reflects the power of Tool's performance mixed with low crowd noise to create one of the better Ozzfest recordings from 2002. Apparently, not many people taped or released their recordings of this performance. Over 6 months past the date when they played & only one source has shown up. Time will tell. Until then, at least this is a good one. It seems that the taper, when he put this show onto CD kept it as one big track instead of splitting them up. Also, Opiate is cut & Lateralus was not recorded. In my opinion, this was due to the taper not using either a 80 minute MD or LP2. Either way, the result is the same: this incomplete recording. This is definitely better than nothing though.

Maynardism: "Thank you John...John, System Of A Down. I don't want to be speaking out of turn, but I think I can say on behalf of System Of A Down & Slayer & all the other bands that played with us -- we really, really appreciate that you guys stuck around. Thank you very, very much. It just reminds us why we do this. Hopefully, something you've heard today will help you to inspire you to do something positive. See you again soon."
