Notes - by Galen:
If this were 1999 or even a gig in 2001 or 2002, perhaps I would (at least)
have a different feeling about this recording. To my pessimistic paradigm,
there is no real excuse for using a recorder that compresses the audio when
there are good & not completely expensive solid-state recorders that do so
with little problem. This is primarily a high-frequency recording, meaning,
there is more high end than anything else. The bass is minimal. However,
with so many recordings riddled with bass this is almost a welcome change.
Almost. The high end almost, but not quite, hurts my ears. I am not trying
to give the taper a hard time or anything like that (any recording is better
than no recording!) & this is a decent capture considering the source
information. And for that, kudos.
