Notes:
After a five year hiatus,
Tool released 10,000 Days - an album that both captivated & polarized
many devoted + casual fans. To some, the album expresses a direction different,
unique & new for the music of Tool; an opinion that clearly Tool advocates
not only lyrically (i.e.: Third Eye) but also musically. Regardless, the album
went platinum & #1 when released in over 15 countries including: America,
Great Britain, Australia & New Zealand (beating out the long awaited Pearl
Jam album two-fold). Before debarking on a tour for Festival + Headline
performances, Tool performed in small theatres in the US after headlining the
Coachella Festival. Tickets for the US mini-tour sold out in under a minute for
even the largest of the venues for the mini-tour (Fox Theatre, Detroit) &
tickets went for as little of face value to hundreds + reported thousands of
dollars for the very prime seats. Relatively early on in the recent tour, it is
anticipated that Tool will slowly unveil new material throughout dates. Be
patient. More to come - that we can be sure. It has been noted that Tool no
longer feels the desire to perform certain older songs from their extensive
library as the meanings, content & overall "feel" of the songs are not where
Tool are at, musically. Interestingly enough, there is no mention of what tunes
those may be - perhaps the lack of them in the set for this era is the answer?
Notes on live recordings/sources:
With the advent of
bit-torrent online communities, FLAC & whatnot; 2006 is the first year that
most Tool recordings that are available were torrented by the taper or by
someone else. As such, many recordings on this site from this era are
sourced from FLAC, SHN, APE, etc. or sourced from downloadable video
files. Unless otherwise noted, all recordings have as much legitimate source
& lineage history as possible. CU.org does have information pertaining to
download sizes of sources. You can not download any complete recording on this
site; only 1 minute (or less) MP3 samples are provided to give the
collector a reference for the source. This entire website is for referential
& archival use only & in no way is to be used for commercial gain of any
kind.
