Notes:
Riding high on the success of Æenima & the 1996 North America leg, Tool took their powerful headline tour to Europe & the land down-under. To much critical acclaim, the band performed to relatively packed-venues on a consistent basis while performing their music how they decided to, not by what was considered marketable, trendy, cool or insert-euphemism-here. During this era, MJK adopted several alter-egos on stage such as the Geisha, the woman & the blue man (and on some occasions Justin would also paint himself blue). The songs from Ænima are exceptionally fresh during these tour-legs and are mix-matched with classics such as Crawl Away, Intolerance, Sober & the Over The Rainbow Mix (OTRM) of Prison Sex (extended verse - began performing in 1996). Although the setlists up to the Lollapalooza performances were relatively stable, the setlists from the traveling festival that helped bring Tool into the spotlight in 1993 varied quite a bit... there are some excellent performances during this time period as well. For many collectors, enthusiasts and random passive-aggressive fans of Tool, this era is not only worth exploring - it is worth immersing yourself in the recordings.
