Notes:
This is the same source
(video) that many people have on VHS. My copy looks pretty much the same
as this version but this has a bit less hiss to the overall sound. Not a
spectacular jump in quality but nothing to
sneeze at either. Besides, DVDs are starting to become quite a bit more
convenient as it is. But if you listen to
the audio, VHS vs. DVD, I doubt many could tell the difference. Distortion
has been re-mastering DVDs, this is
one of his re-masters. There are some very nice chapter selections and a
rather interesting menu page. Although this is certainly not a completely
rare show by any standards, this performance has appealed to me for a very
long time. Filmed from the back-left of the venue, this is a very good
capture & is arguable the best 1996 capture on film. The audio is clear,
there are some good close-ups of all band members & also some decent
screen-shots. All in all, this is one recording that has a home in many
fan's collections simply because this is so damn good. Maynard is painted in
blue/red with spots & Justin has horns. Interesting stuff.
Maynardism:
"This song seemed to cause
a little bit of controversy up here, on Much Music. This song is
about recognizing, identifying the cycles of abuse within yourself. The
first step of the process: Realization,
identifying - the best step is to work through it. But this song is about
the first step in the process which is
recognizing"
