Notes: Nice recording. The taper, sounds like to me, stood fairly close to the front of a stack as the audio & other instruments are exceptionally clear. Listening to this recording & the clarity of it, it is rather rare, a show from 1996 sounding this nice. However, if you were to really strain your ears you would hear a very minimal high-end distortion during certain parts of a couple songs...like Stinkfist for example. Also, if you put this recording into a car stereo with a sub & a 12" bass speaker, you will hear an a lot of bass. A good pair of headphones or system will pick that aspect up as well...it is a little bass-e. But other than those very minor criticisms, this is definitely one of the reasons I collect live recordings of Tool. A recording this...nice... are few & far between. The second show of 1996 & what a setlist. Tool was pretty much on the ball this night, it sounds like. The performance itself is memorable enough but add on a real nice recording you have a good combination. And, for those that are curious about the source information, at least in early 2005, all sources of this recording that are out & about are sourced from a cassette and are not from the master or DAT - thus, all CD copies are analog sourced. I trust this is clear & not confusing?
"Thank you very much for coming down to Soma on the second show of this tour. This is our last song."
