Notes: Coldplay has always been, for me, a band that I can take in doses. I must say that the main reason I
attended this show was for Coldplay's opening band: The Music but was pleasantly surprised with the main act.
Although many parts of the performance involved Chris Martin's anti-war, anti-capitalism, anti-whatever rhetoric,
the bands music seemed to find a way to pull through the bullshit to create something worthwhile. While I was at
the show, to be honest, not much really inspired me to get really drawn into the performance. The show featured
some real cool lights, great sound, decent stage presence & also some catchy pop-tunes but seemed to lack, for
me, real involement. Maybe it was because or due to the fact that I've not been an avid Coldplay fanatic or maybe
it is that they were appealing to their target audience. And, if the annoying people I was by are any measure, not
individuals I would want to stand by at a concert again. Retrospectively, Coldplay was a good time & I will see
them again. Thing is, my recording seemed to be plagued by issues from the beginning. Somehow, people snuck
their friends down into the row where I was at & crowded out seats. The people next to me grabbed security to
check tickets & all they did was end up talking almost directly into my microphones
(annoys the piss out of me
everytime I hear it)
, the MD had a weird thing this night where the battery would flash on & off but still record (not
sure why even to this day)
, their are a couple of MD skips from when I moved & also I left the venue during "In My
Place" to avoid getting stuck in the parking garage for 1.5 hours after the show got out
(was parked at the top).
However, all in all, not too bad.
