Band: Audioslave
Location: Detroit, MI, USA @ The State Theatre
Date: 02.28.03

Equipment: Mini Disc --- Core Sound Binaurals > -20 dB > Sony MZ-R700
Taping Position: Front Of Stack - Right

Notes: All in all, for what this band is, a good + entertaining show but really breaks no real ground-work for
future creativity. The hybrid of the heavier music with Cornell's vocal styling don't do all that much for me.
Would I go see them again? Of course, they are a very good live band & were a pretty massive part of
Lollapalooza 2003. I've had this conversation about 100 times & do not want to do it again about this not being
Rage Against The Machine nor Soundgarden or even Temple Of The Dog for that matter. We all know that. A
lot of people are really into Audioslave or just aren't. I may be in the middle. One thing for certain, the core of
this super-group, the original 3, are so incredibly tight as musicians. Morello is fantastic. The recording of this
show came out very nicely, in my opinion. But during -Set It Off-, I dropped something on the ground twice &
was sort of pushed out of the way by the wonderfully macho, intelligent, dilligent, thin + fit and charming
X-Men security; possibly the most annoying and lame concert security anywhere. They basically dragged
someone out who was standing in the middle taking pictures because the guy would not give up his film &
pushed me in front of the bass stack. Ah well. The rest of the recording came out rather nicely. I do remember
that I was s-i-c-k as hell for this show as I missed work & school due to a 103* fever... right, so what was I
doing at a fucking concert? I know, I know...
