Band: The Black Keys
Location: Detroit, MI, USA @ The Majestic Theatre
Date: Feb. 19, 2003

Equipment: Mini Disc --- Core Sound Binaurals > Battery Box > Sony MZ-R700
Taping Position: Front Of Stack - Right

Notes: When these guys first came on stage, I had no expectations. When they left, I hoped that Sleater-Kinney
was going to be amazing live as it would take something very, very cool to do a proper follow-up for this duo
from Ohio. They are a guitarist/vocalist & a drummer & man do they put on one hell of a good show,
performance. Although the White Stripes have 2 people in the band, a comparison, music-wise is not fair for
either band. The Black Keys are more stripped down, bluesy & laid back semi-Southern rock. Normally, one
would not like that type of music but these guys destroyed that opinion. I will see these guys next chance I get, I
hope they have a long career ahead of them. They also played one mean, mean cover of the Beatles "She Said,
She Said". Definitely, one band you should check out if at all possible.
