Band: Gomez Location: Detroit, MI, USA @ St. Andrews Hall Date: May 12, 2003
Equipment: Mini Disc --- Core Sound Binaurals > Battery Box > Sony MZ-R700 Taping Position: Front Of Stack - Left
Notes: Really, Gomez is an exceptional live band. Not only do they blend & infuse various styles of musical styles into their songs but they also give a rather unique feeling to their own songs live when compared with the studio/album versions. Live is better, IMO, than any studio stuff you could throw to a listener. From rugged & deep psychadelic tunes to catchy, poppy & rockin' Brit-Pop hits, Gomez is, in a way, the 'jam band' from Britatin. Very nice stuff. The show lasted about 130 minutes straight, with only very short intermissions between encores. This was the last night of the tour & they performed quite well. Was refreshing to hear some older stuff along with the new stuff all rolled up into one bit & fat jibber. Although I cannot say that everyone would be totally enthralled by Gomez, the crowd in Detroit certianly was completley into it. Up until the 2nd encore, I stood FOS-Left but after moved to Front Of The Sound-Board to ask for a copy of the setlist before other people beat me to it.
