Band: Meshuggah Location: Kalamazoo, MI, USA @ Wings Stadium Date: Oct. 18, 2003 Opening for: Tool
Equipment: Mini Disc --- Core Sound Binaurals > Battery Box > Sony MZ-R700 Taping Position: Front Of Stack - Left; Waling Around Venue
Notes: This was actually the 4th time that I was graced by Mehsuggah's live-presence. Saw them when they opened for Tool in 2001 & also directly after the 9/11 terrorist bombings. For some reason, the music simply did not gel with me all that much during that particular time period. For whatever reason. Honestly, I did not really pay attention at all to this performance. I was too busy messing with & testing my, at the time, CSB microphones. Walked around the venue to test levels & differences in sound from alternate locations such as FOS (left + right), Front Of Board & all around the perimeters of the 14K capacity venue. There were a lot of friends & random people from, of all places, my hometown of Charlevoix, MI who came to see Tool. None came for Meshuggah. Let's see, as far as overall recording goes & keeping in mind the factors & walking I did during this set, everything was ok. Still, not a huge fan of Mehuggah. I do like "New, Millenium, Cyanide Christ" - that one is a classic.
