Notes: The Music, IMO, are the best that the British music scene has to offer as far as enjoyablty, working a
crowd, energy, postive-vibes and talent. Younger guys, early 20's, who have a grip on what it takes to make a
statement. They have pretty much been constantly touring the US & the World since early 2002 & seem to not
really be taking a breather - that is good. More exposure, more people get to experience them, the better. The
laid-back style of their stage presence mixed with the deep, rich & introspective nature of the music + vocals
creates a feeling that this band could realyl go far. Thus far, they have made more of a dent in the American
market than other bands of equal or lesser talent have in years. Cracking the USA seems to be a point of interest
for many British bands, these guys have a shot. Although not exceptionally well known yet, or maybe they
never will be, they have already a rather rabid & excited fan-base. Some people I've talked to and from my own
opinions believe they are similiar to what the Stone Roses were or could have been had they possessed just a littl
bit 'more'. Not entirely sure why The Music were opening for The Vines as I think that many people came for
The Music, at least I did. I feel kind of funny about bands who have the openers completely blow them away on
stage like The Music did this night. As the stage went dark, a voice from the Matrix's (I) final scene, Neo, talks
to the audience: "I know your out there, I can feel you now..." Rather intersting. Having heard this band a
couple times before & also having heard numerous other live recordings, the songs themselves take on a natural
evolution of different fills, breaks & utter growth. Many groups do this but very few seem to be better than a
studio recording whithout even trying. Somehow, these guys do just that. The "Getaway" is a haunting
comment on trying to 'be some one' & has a possibility of "rock legend" written all over it. At least in my music
collection.
