Band: The Beta Band Location: Detroit, MI, USA @ St. Andrews Hall Date: April 17, 2002
Equipment: Mini Disc --- Giant-Squid Powered Battery Box Binaural > Sony MD MZ-R700 Taping Position: Front OF Stack - Left
Notes: They played the exact, I mean exact, same setlist as when I saw them in October with the exception that some songs were played with slight variations. However, I really did not mind at all because the first recording didn't come out very well whereas this did. There is one instance where the bass frequency is just too low & it semi-distorts/brickwalls the recording in certain circumstances but other than that, it is rather clear. This show was sold-out, unlike the October 2001 show, & was also real hot. Unseasonable weather had the temp's up to 86 degrees that night so everyone was sweating. In 2003, on April 17, it was a little above 40*. When the Beta Band walked out onto stage, after first walking through the crowd like insane monks, we saw that they were wearing white robes with NASA space-suits on underneath. I managed to get hit by a beer bottle being dropped from the second level of the club. Nothing like it.
Setlist Attained?: Yes -- the tour manager dropped two off in front of me; I grabbed one.
