Band: Girls Against Boys
Location: East Lansing, MI, USA @ Michigan State University Ballroom; The Union
Date: April 21, 2002

Equipment: Mini Disc --- Giant-Squid Powered Battery Box Binaural > Sony MD MZ-R700
Taping Position: Front Of Stack - Right

Notes: Only about 75 people showed up to this show. I felt kind of bad for the band. Before the gig, I saw the
lead singer standing on the side of the Union smoking a cigarette & I bummed one from him. I didn't even know
he was in the band, well I did but only because he was in his middle 30's whereas everyone else was early 20's.
Or late like myself. Apparently, the night before at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit (a much larger venue) only 160
people showed up. As for the mood of the evening, tt was a very cold Spring night the week before finals in the
middle of Michigan & not many people wanted or cared to really check out a band who's greatest claim to fame
in the past few years has been doing the soundtrack to the film 'Series 7'
(excellent film, btw). The band is pretty
heavey with a grunge-industrial-early 1990s feel. Sort of reminiscent of some late My Bloody Valentine and For
Love Not Lisa. As for the recording, it is good & levels out nicely. I don't think that anyone would really be into
this band unless they are -really- into this band.
