Date: October 24, 2001

Equipment: Mini Disc --- Radioshack Lavaliers > Sony MZ-R700
Taping Position: Front Of Stack - Right

Notes: The Beta Band are an excellent group that put on one hell of a show. They have a nice stage presence,
decorations, movies to go with the music & varied musical style. Highly recommend seeing them live. This
particular recording, basically, is brickwalled throughout as the heavy bass seems to just kick the ass of these
microphones. The brickwall is not constant but it is there when the bass just smacks the microphones. But,
honestly, I spent some time rigging & modifying my Radioshack microphones so the sound quality is actualyl
not terrible. Not in comparison with something like CSB but for starter mics, not too bad. I ran an attenuator
cable on these mics for this show as I figured a FOS was what I would be doing in the Hall. Before the show, I
was accosted by a homeless individual who simply would -not- take no for an answer as to giving him money.
Finally, I just had to say I was a social worker & he left. That seems to work quite well. I remember talkign to
Sarah at this show. Of all fucking nights, a tornado ripped through our neighborhood the one night I am in
Detroit at a concert. She was all freaked out & spent the evening in the bathroom with our cat, with wine & a
candle - waiting for me. I felt pretty bad, actually. Although, I did get to see a pretty good show.
