Band: Neil Diamond
Location: Auburn Hills, MI, USA @ The Palace Of Auburn Hills
Date: October 6, 2001

Equipment: Mini Disc --- Radioshack Lavaliers > Sony MZ-R700
Taping Position: Upper right hand balconey, Top

Notes: The recording reflects not only being towards the top of the Palace but also very low sound eminating
from the speakers. They should have had the volum up quite a bit more than the technicians did but I think that if
it was any louder, the hearing aids in many of the audience member's ears would have blown. Hell, maybe Neil's
HA as well, who knows. There is lot's of crowd noise in this recoridng. Neil Diamond, however, is a classic
artist in the vein of Las Vagas... if nothing else, he is a true showman. At one point, during "Girl, you'll Be A
Woman Soon", he knelt down on stage & motioned towards a woman in the front row, middle-aged of course.
She came up & he basically layed on the stage & sang the song to her. Let me put it to you this way, all of the
women in the audience started screaming like it was 1964 & the Beatles were arriving on an airplane when he
kissed that lady's hand. Anyway, had a good time but not as much as my mother did. She really enjoyed it -
which is why I took her & Sarah.
